Pisiform fracture

Presentation

Ongoing wrist pain especially when typing. History of trauma 3 weeks earlier. Initial radiographs did not show acute abnormality.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

AP and lateral view demonstrated no acute abnormality. 

Additional lateral 30 degree angled view was requested given patient's symptoms which demonstrated fracture of the pisiform bone. No other fracture was identified. 

Case Discussion

Pisiform fractures are not commonly seen. If clinical suspicion warrants, additional views can be performed to help with visualization of the pisiform.
