Followed up for prior non-melanoma skin cancer. Intracranial metastasis?

Patient Data

Age: 90 years
Gender: Male
mri
  • Thickened, enhancing pituitary stalk with a diameter of 7mm. 
  • Cortical atrophy with signs of chronic small vessel ischemia (Fazekas I.). 
  • Otherwise unremarkable exam. 

Case Discussion

The pituitary stalk lesion likely represents an asymptomatic pituicytoma, and has been stable for almost a decade. Nonetheless other benign lesions of this region remain a possible differential diagnoses.
