Presentation

Headache with blurred vision. The patient had a biopsy.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Female
mri

Large well defined sellar/suprasellar mass measuring19x21x21 mm. It shows a low T1 signal with high T2 and FLAIR signal and homogeneous enhancement. It abuts and mildly elevates the optic chiasm. No para sellar extension with grade 0 cavernous sinus invasion.

Surgically removed left middle turbinate with left sphenoid sinus floor defect.

Case Discussion

Pathology:  Diffusely infiltrating monomorphic cells as well as trabeculae slightly larger than normal with central uniform nuclei and infrequent mitosis. No evidence of hemorrhage or anaplastic features. Findings are consistent with a Pituitary macroadenoma
