Info

A mass expands the sella with a large suprasellar component giving a "snowman" appearance. It appears isointense to grey matter on both T1/ T2 sequences and shows moderate enhancement post gadolinium administration. There is superior displacement and compression of the optic chiasm. Extension into the left cavernous sinus without vascular encasement is noted. No intratumoural haemorrhage is seen.

Case Discussion

MRI findings are consistent with pituitary macroadenoma with the characteristic snowman appearance.
