There is a large intrasellar mass enlarging the sellar fossa measuring 28 x 26 x 24 mm with suprasellar extension, filling the optochiasmatic cistern and compressing the central part of the optic chiasma. It elicits an isosignal to the cortical grey matter on both T1 and T2 with moderate and heterogeneous enhancement on postcontrast sequences. No extension to the cavernous sinuses. Normal diameter of the intracavernous internal carotid arteries on the MRA 3D-TOF.
Case Discussion
MRI features of a pituitary macroadenoma with suprasellar extension compressing the optic chiasma.
