Pivot-shift marrow edema of the lateral knee compartment is noted. Osseous edema of the medial tibial plateau is also noted.
Complete ACL tear with mild anterior tibial translation is detected.
A bucket-handle tear of the medial meniscus is detected.
The lateral meniscus, PCL, collateral ligaments and extensor tendons are intact.
The chondral surfaces are preserved.
Mild joint effusion is noted.
Case Discussion
In summary, MRI findings are consistent with a pivot-shift injury mechanism with complete ACL tear and bucket-handle tear of the medial meniscus.
