Hypoechoic thickening of the calcaneal insertion of the plantar fascia (central band). It measures up to 6mm. Its fibrillarly pattern is altered.

The plantar fascia is of normal morphology. Its thickness and echogenicity are normal. Its characteristic fibrillar pattern is observed.
Case Discussion
The findings correspond to left plantar fasciitis. This patient had obesity and long-standing diabetes mellitus as predisposing factors 1.
