Presentation
Right forefoot sole nodule for the last few months. Recent onset of mild pain. No history of trauma.
Patient Data

There is a well-defined lesion in the region of interest, measuring about 13 x 10 x 6 mm. The plantar fascia slip of the great toe enters and exits the lesion. The lesion is a focal nodule in the fascia. It is separate from the underlying flexor hallucis longus tendon.
The lesion is solid, heterogeneous, hypoechoic without calcification / cystic changes. There is faint acoustic enhancement. It does not show compressibility. There are a few internal flow signals.
The rest of the plantar fascia shows normal echopattern without other nodules or changes of plantar fasciitis.
The asymptomatic contralateral foot was examined and there was no plantar fibroma (image not uploaded).
Case Discussion
The case shows ultrasound features of a plantar fibroma originating from great toe plantar fascia slip.
