Plasmacytoma - humerus

Presentation

Right upper limb pain. Clinical examination suggested a distal biceps tendon rupture. The patient was referred for an x-ray due to the appearance of the upper limb.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years old
Gender: Male
X-ray

Radiographs of the right upper limb demonstrating an aggressive lytic lesion involving the midshaft of the humerus. 

Case Discussion

Pathology proved this lesion to be a plasmacytoma.  Plasmacytomas are a solitary mass of monoclonal plasma cells in either bone or soft tissue and are regarded as a singular form of multiple myeloma.
