Presentation
Known paraproteinuria. 6 weeks of pain and swelling in the lateral knee. No history of trauma.
Patient Data
Subtle lytic lesion in the lateral tibial plateau without cortical breach or bone expansion.
Well-defined mass with slightly lobulated margins in the lateral tibial plateau with surrounding soft tissue edema. No expansion of bone nor cortical destruction. Only minor adjacent bone marrow edema laterally.
Case Discussion
This is an unusual location for a solitary deposit of myeloma (plasmacytoma). The lack of bone expansion is also unusual. Differential diagnosis would include giant cell tumor and metastasis.
