Retired blue collar worker. Chest pain.

Patient Data

Age: 75 years
Gender: Male

Extensive widespread heavily calcified pleural plaques.

Heart size normal. Lungs clear.

Case Discussion

There is nothing subtle about these calcified pleural plaques.

The plaques are throughout the thorax and heavily calcified, including on the diaphragm and on the mediastinal pleural surfaces.

The patient was exposed to asbestos during his working career.
