Presentation

Left submandibular fluctuant swelling for a few weeks ago.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male
mri

Well defined left submandibular thin-walled cystic lesion with no solid components, arising from left sublingual space descending inferiorly via mylohyoid into submandibular space. 

Case Discussion

Findings are typical of a plunging ranula. The extension to the typical submandibular space favors the diagnosis of plunging ranula.
