Post-processed coronal lung window images using a MinIP algorithm accentuating the tracheobronchial tree and ground glass opacity.
Case Discussion
PCP pneumonia - utility of minimum intensity projection (MinIP). HRCT thorax revealed perihilar and lower lobar interlobular septal thickening and ground glass opacities. Pneumatoceles were detected in the left upper lobe.
Laboratory data revealed that the patient is seropositive for HIV with a low CD4 count. The patient improved with anti-PCP antibiotics.
