There are bilateral upper and mid zone perihilar airspace opacities. Heterogenous appearance of the opacities, with a suggestion of cystic lucencies within.
The pleural recesses are clear. The cardiomediastinal contour is within normal limits.
Case Discussion
Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (PJP) is an opportunistic infection which can arise in patients who are immunosuppressed. In this case, the patient was vulnerable to the infection as they were on chemotherapy for a hematological malignancy.
