Pneumomediastinum: with continuous diaphragm sign

Presentation

Female patient came to the ED after experiencing acute chest pain since yesterday. There is Hx of corona viral infection x 3 weeks.

Patient Data

Gender: Female
Modality: X-ray

Chest x ray showing continuous lucent line above the central portion of the diaphragm. A sign suggesting pneumopericardium or pneumomediastinum.

Confirmatory CT scan of the chest shows bilateral surgical emphysema and air leakage into the mediastinum and pleural fissure spaces. Bilateral pulmonary congestion is also noted.
