Acute abdominal pain.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female

Chest

x-ray

Free gas under the right hemidiaphragm, giving the appearance of crescent (i.e. crescent sign) in keeping with pneumoperitoneum.

Lungs are clear.

Case Discussion

This case demonstrates typical findings of pneumoperitoneum, often an indication of a critical illness, such as in this case due to intestinal perforation.
