Pneumoperitoneum on ultrasound

Presentation

Acute abdominal pain for 8 hours.

Patient Data

Age: 35
Gender: Male
Ultrasound

Free intraperitoneal gas was noted anterior to the left lobe of the liver in a supine position and anterior to the right lobe of the liver in a left decubitus position.

Free fluid with internal echoes was noted in abdomen and pelvis. 

Case Discussion

Sonographic features of pneumoperitoneum, presumably from hollow viscus rupture but no surgical follow-up available.
