Patient Data

Age: 60 years

ct

Innumerable fluid density cysts throughout the liver. There is marked enlargement of the liver which occupies the majority of the left upper and right upper quadrants.

There is no enlargement or cystic formation of the bilateral kidneys.

Left inguinal hernia is also noted.

Case Discussion

This is a case of polycystic liver disease. There are innumerable cysts within the hepatic parenchyma without corresponding cyst formation in the kidneys (which would suggest adult polycystic kidney disease).
