Presentation

Recent fall, now swollen painful knee.

Patient Data

Age: 75 years
Gender: Male
mri

Grossly degenerate knee with a large partially thrombosed (lamellated clot-filled) aneurysm of the popliteal artery (arrow).  

Case Discussion

Note pulsation artefact in the phase encoding direction.  Differentiates from other soft tissue masses behind the knee.
