Popliteal vein presenting on its posterior wall a partially thrombosed saccular aneurysmal dilatation.
Turbulent flow with thrombus partially filling the lumen is seen on Doppler study after distal compression maneuver.
Case Discussion
Popliteal venous aneurysms are uncommon and mostly asymptomatic. However, in some cases they may be related to episodes of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism.
