A well-defined homogeneous fusiform fluid collection surrounds the popliteus tendon near the insertion onto the lateral femoral condyle.
Case Discussion
Ganglia around the knee shall occur at any tendon insertion, but most commonly seen at the tendon insertion of the medial and lateral gastrocnemius and the popliteus. Popliteus tendon ganglia are often seen near their insertion onto the lateral femoral condyle and are mostly asymptomatic however large ganglia can be painful.
