Portal hypertension with venous infarction
Case Discussion
CT demonstrates multiple varices, cavernous transformation of the portal vein and multiple small splenic vessels rather than a single splenic vein. Features all secondary to portal hypertension.
The cause of the abdominal pain is the infarcted loop of jejunum (proved at the subsequent surgery) - venous infarction.
