Portal vein thrombosis

Presentation

Acute abdominal pain.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male
ct

Filling defect is present at portal vein and its intrahepatic branches extends to SMV, inferring thrombosis. Mild mesenteric fat stranding is evident particularly at small bowel mesentery root. 

The prostate gland is mildly enlarged.
A little amount free fluid is present at pelvis.
