Post-axial polydactyly with avulsion fracture of the 5th metatarsal styloid

Post traumatic pain at lateral aspect of the right foot.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male

The little toe has an additional middle and distal phalanges consistent with post-axial polydactyly with an avulsion fracture of the 5th metatarsal styloid.

Case Discussion

Polydactyly is the most common congenital anomaly of the forefoot with an incidence of 1:500. Post axial is the most common. Removal of the extra digit by disarticulation is the standard treatment.
