Post injection abscess - thigh

Vaccination - anterior thigh - 1 mth. C/o local swelling.

Patient Data

Age: about 2 yrs
Gender: Female

There is an encapsulated collection at site of swelling. It is in subcutaneous plane, abutting fascia. Mobile internal low level echoes are present. Thin wall ( 1 - 1.5 mm ) is noted. No internal septa / vascularity. 

Perilesional fat shows increased echogenesity.

Subcutaneous non-thrombosed vein is noted abutting deeper surface of the lesion.

Underlying muscles are normal.

Case Discussion

Findings of post vaccination abscess in subcutaneous plane of anterior thigh.

Surgery - Abscess.
