Post mastectomy seroma

Presentation

Right mastectomy for carcinoma 9 months ago. Completed chemotherapy 2 months ago. Complaining of discharge at scar site for 2-3 months.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Female
ultrasound

Single, anechoic, compressible, well-defined, thin walled collection is noted deep to scar.

No vascularity / calcification / nodules are noted in wall. No erosion of ribs noted deep to collection. No local solid mass lesion is noted. No other collection is noted. There is no evidence of any axillary adenopathy.

Findings favor seroma, which are common after breast surgery.
