Post-primary pulmonary tuberculosis

Presentation

The patient presented with night sweats, cough and dyspnea. She had lost 10 kgs of weight within the last 3 months and tested positive for HIV.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Female

Imaging studies showed a predominantly fibroproductive form of TB, that also included exsudative foci and cavitations. Infiltrates and multiple saccular bronchiectases were present in the lower lobes. Emphysematous bullae were found in the pulmonary apices. A Ranke complex could be identified in the left upper lobe.
