Post RF ablation biliary dilatation

Presentation

The patient developed progressive jaundice 1 month following two sessions of RF ablation of hepatic focal lesions in the same day.

Patient Data

Age: 74 years old
Gender: Male

There is localized dilatation of the intrahepatic biliary radicals of the right hepatic lobe. Two right hepatic lobe necrotic focal lesions were seen as a result of successful radiofrequency ablation done 1 month prior to study.

Case Discussion

Localized fibrosis and stricture formation is one of the complications of radiofrequency ablation from the heat generated.
