Post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder: sinuses

Past history of leukaemia and bone marrow transplant 2 years earlier, presented with an enlarging ethmoidal mass.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female

Case Discussion

Final diagnosis:

Right ethmoid, biopsy: Post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma type, EBV negative.

The biopsy shows area of diffuse infiltration by large pleomorphic lymphoid cells which show strong uniform expression of B cell marker CD20.

The majority of these tumors in the post-transplant setting are EBV positive.
