Presentation

Palpable, non tender mass in right shoulder.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male

Abnormality contour of the right shoulder as the referred palpable mass. No inflammatory signs. Not tender. 

ultrasound

Thickening of the subcutaneous fat rather than a distinct mass has a signal intensity identical to subcutaneous fat. No fibrous capsule is identified. 

Case Discussion

Posttraumatic pseudolymphoma or posttraumatic lipohypertrophy are prominent increases in the volume of subcutaneous adipose tissue arising from an initial blunt, soft tissue trauma.

In this case, the patient confirmed weight-bearing of heavy boxes in the right shoulder as a professional activity.

Written consent was obtained.
