Presentation

History of a heavy metal object falls on the foot, on examination: mild swelling around the ankle, no open wound.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male

No clear fracture is noted.

Incidentally: postaxial polydactyly and hypoplastic fifth metatarsal of the left foot is noted.

Bifid proximal phalanx and short metatarsal

Case Discussion

Postaxial polydactyly is more common than preaxial polydactyly, with an estimated incidence of 1 in 3000.
