Posterior acetabular fracture

Case contributed by Dr Henry Knipe

Motor vehicle collision

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Male

Undisplaced fracture of the posterior right acetabulum, best seen on the Judet view.

Acute undisplaced fracture through the posterior column of the right acetabulum extending superiorly. There is a minimal step and gap in the subchondral plate.

Case Discussion

Judet views are very handy to inspect the acetabulum. The fracture is not as obvious on the frontal and lateral projections.
