Posterior choanal atresia - bilateral

Medial bowing of the posterior aspect of maxillary sinuses bilaterally with narrowing of the posterior choana (about 1.5 mm) and retention of mucus inside the nasal cavities denoting bilateral choanal atresia (osseous type).
An endotracheal tube is noted.
Case Discussion
Bilateral choanal atresia is a life threatening condition until the patient underwent surgical intervention to maintain airway patency during mouth closure.
