Posterior cruciate ligament avulsion fracture

Presentation

History of fall from a bike about 3-4 days ago. Complaining of left knee trauma resulting in pain and difficulty in walking.

Patient Data

Age: 15 years
Gender: Male

There is linear lucency in the posterior intercondylar region of the tibia in lateral view. There is no dislocation or bone lesion.

Symptomatic knee shows cortical breach of posterior intercondylar region of tibia at posterior cruciate ligament attachment site.

Aymptomatic knee shows normal tibial attachment of posterior cruciate ligament attachment.

Case Discussion

An adolescent boy presented with left knee trauma. Radiograph and ultrasound of the left knee show posterior cruciate ligament bony avulsion of the tibia.
