Presentation

Fall onto the outstretched hand while playing soccer. Obvious elbow deformity.

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Radiographs revealed a posterior elbow dislocation. There were no associated fractures.

Case Discussion

The elbow is the second most commonly dislocated joint in adults.

The usual mechanism of posterior elbow dislocation is a fall onto the outstretched hand.
