Posterior hip dislocation

Radiographs revealed a dislocation of the left hip. The femoral head is seen superior and lateral to the acetabulum and overlaps the acetabular roof, this is the typical appearance of posterior hip dislocation.
There are no associated fractures.
Case Discussion
Posterior hip dislocation is the commonest type of hip dislocation.
Usually, an extremely high-energy trauma is necessary to dislocate the hip.
The present case is an example of pure hip dislocation, as there are no associated fractures of neither the femoral head nor the acetabulum.
