Posterior inferior cerebellar artery (PICA) infarct

Hypodensity in the left cerebellar hemisphere, in the territory of the left PICA. 

48 hours later

Modality: CT

Left PICA territory infract is more clearly delineated with positive mass effect from oedema. 

Case Discussion

This is an example of a PICA infarct evolving over 48 hours. Patient required craniotomy and resection of infarcted cerebellum.
