Posterior mediastinal mass

Diagnosis probable

Presentation

No chest symptoms. Preoperative chest radiograph for a dental cyst removal (odontogenic keratocyst)

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Frontal radiograph shows a right sided rounded opacity with smooth borders is noted over the right cardiac border with pulmonary vasculature seen through. No calcifications are visualized on radiograph.

Lateral projection revealed the rounded opacity is noted at the posterior part of the lower chest.

A routine pre-operative chest radiograph taken prior to excision of mandibular cyst reveals a large posterior mediastinal mass
