Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome

FLAIR sequences show abnormal patchy hyperintensity in the bilateral, parietal and occipital subcortical regions. There is no diffusion restriction. No abnormal enhancement is seen on post contrast study.
Case Discussion
The patient had a history of cesarian section 2 weeks prior and she is hypertensive.
A differential diagnosis of Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) and demyelination was considered.
However, In the given clinical scenario the findings are consistent with PRES. Unfortunately a follow-up MRI could not be obtained.
