Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES)

Axial FLAIR sequence demonstrating increased signal involving predominantly the subcortical white matter in the parieto-occipital and superior frontal gyri regions, somewhat in a symmetrical pattern. No evidence of mass effect or edema.

MRI - 2 weeks later

Repeat MRI 2 weeks later demonstrating marked resolution of changes.
