Knee pain, swelling and sense of giving away 2 weeks following trauma

Patient Data

Age: 43 years old
Gender: Male

There is complete ACL tear and PCL sprain. The medial meniscus is extruded medially with torn posterior root ligament. Parameniscal cyst at lateral meniscus yet no definite tear. joint effusion.

Case Discussion

Root ligaments hold the menisci in place. Posterior root ligament of the medial meniscus is the most injured one and result in meniscal detachment and displacement.
