  • vertical lucency through the posterior talar process
  • increased lucency compared to prior image 
  • joint effusion
  • soft tissue swelling
  • no loose body or osteochondral defect

Case Discussion

  • vertical lucency of the posterior talar process carries a differential of os trigonum
  • the presence of a joint effusion can be seen in os trigonum syndrome  
  • having a previously normal radiograph confirms the presence of an acute fracture
