Presentation

Left ankle posterior/medial aspect swelling for a few years. No significant pain. No trauma.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male
ultrasound

Well-defined ovoid lesion is seen in the region of interest.

Size: 48 x 35 x 28 mm

Location:

  • along the neurovascular bundle at a posterior/medial ankle
  • the lesion is inseparable from the posterior tibial nerve
  • the lesion is separate from tendon, bone, and joint

Morphology:

  • hypoechoic
  • few tiny calcification foci and tiny cysts
  • vascular          

Case Discussion

Surgical excision was done.

Histopathology: schwannoma.
