Posterior urethral valve - antenatal ultrasound

Presentation

27 weeks of gestational age.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Female

The typical keyhole appearance of the urinary bladder. Bilateral hydronephrosis. Two ' stomach bubbles' shaped anechoic fluid collections posterior to kidneys and abutting them; which should be urinomas.

Case Discussion

Findings of bilateral hydronephrosis, bilateral perinephric urinomas, and keyhole appearance of the urinary bladder favor the posterior urethral valve.

I do not have documented post-natal follow-up about pathology. As per the history provided by the mother; after delivery baby was in the hospital and died at three months of age.
