Posterior urethral valve - antenatal ultrasound

Presentation

Early third trimester scan. No complaints.

Patient Data

Age: about 24 yrs.
Gender: Female
Modality: Ultrasound

Liquor is nearly absent. 

Urinary bladder is over-distended with "key-hole" appearance.

There is bilateral hydronephrosis and hydroureter. 

Right sided moderate hydronephrosis. Right kidney - 34 mm length

Left sided gross hydronephrosis. Left kidney - 43 mm length. There is thin rim of perinephric fluid on the left side.

Case Discussion

Finding of oligohydramnios due to a posterior urethral valve.

Urinary bladder shows keyhole sign.
