Presentation

G2P1 at 19 weeks gestation. Bilateral hydronephrosis for follow-up.

Patient Data

Age: 19 weeks gestation
Gender: Female
ultrasound
  • both kidneys are enlarged with hydronephrosis
  • hydroureters
  • distended bladder with thickened wall
  • distended posterior urethra with the keyhole sign
  • moderate oligohydramnios
  • male fetus

Case Discussion

The Ultrasound features in a male fetus are most consistent with posterior urethral valves.
