Presentation
Soft, mildly tender lump on the forehead for past 9 months. History of chronic sinusitis.
Patient Data
There is an extensive bifrontal mucocele with destruction of the anterior and posterior margins of the frontal sinuses.
There is bony destruction involving the left superior orbit. The preseptal space is abutted inferomedially.
A shallow right frontal subdural collection is seen.
Case Discussion
Further evaluation with post-contrast MRI was recommended. This patient was referred to hospital for ENT, neurosurgical and ophthalmology reviews.
A surgical wash-out was performed and streptococcus grew from the intra-operative sample.
This is a typical example of Pott's puffy tumor, named by/after Percivall Potts.
