There is a hypoechoic tract from the skin. It is connected to a walled-off cavity (about 6 x 3 x 3 mm). There is minimal fluid in it. This cavity abutts adjacent ear cartilage which is mildly thickened, without obvious perforation. There is mild local hypervascularity.
