Case Discussion

Preauricular sinus (preauricular pit) is a common congenital abnormality that is typically a small blind-ended opening near the ascending limb of the helix. They can be a simple pit or have a sinus tract and/or cystic component.

They are often asymptomatic but patients may present when they become infected.
