Presacral yolk sac tumour

A 3-year-old female presented with paraplegia.

Patient Data

Age: 3-year
Gender: Female
Race: Caucasian

Axial contrast enhanced CT demonstrates a heterogeneous soft tissue mass in the presacral space of the extraperitoneal pelvis and in the sacral foramina with osseous destruction and extension to the spinal canal via the neuroforamina. There are also anterior displacement of the distended bladder and rectum as well as bilateral hydronephrosis due to distal involvement of the ureters.

Case Discussion

She went on to have a biopsy and pathology confirmed a Yolk sac tumour.
